task
A survey that was carried out found that the existing roof was failing due to it passing its serviceable date.
approach
Metal fascia flashings, scaffolding, and cables and wires were installed.
Deliveries were organised accordingly with different locations agreed with the client to ensure no disruption to occupants. For the same reason, all five blocks were worked on individually. An olivine felt system was installed, as this is a lot more sustainable.
solution
Renewal was carried out over 5 months; blocks were completed individually to minimise disruption. Working with residents was a top priority for our Contract Manager, James Bartlett, who said, “We held daily pre-start meetings to inform tenants about activity, as they remained in their homes throughout the work. The housing association was pleased we retained the confidence of residents, and always showed professionalism, consideration and respect for others”.
